| Distance |
About 75 miles via I-90, somewhat shorter via the Black Hills Parkway (US385) and Deadwood. |
| Time Needed: |
An evening. (Note:
Although we would love to have your booking, we recommend that if you
wish to see the passion play, you should arrange for lodging in or near
Spearfish. It takes nearly an hour and a half to drive back to Keystone
from Spearfish and the play lasts until well after 10 p.m. A late night
drive on mountain roads may not be everyone's cup of tea. And, "no", we
do not recommend other lodging properties.) |

on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday at 8 p.m. from early June to the end of August, except during the
Sturgis Motorcycle Races and Rally. Reservations are not required but recommended. |

| Highlights: |
A Black Hills tradition for more than 65 years |
| Description: |
Originally an
European tradition, this play depicts the events of Christ's last week
on earth. This play was first produced in the United States by Josef
Meier as a touring company in 1932. The Passion Play continued as a
touring production for several years, until permanently settling in the
Black Hills in 1939. Mr. Meier's decendants are involved in the
production to this day. The format remains true to the original 13th
century passion plays and many in the cast of more than 100 are local
townsfolk from Spearfish and nearby communities
