Panning |
| Description: |
The Big Thunder Gold Mine was once a real,
operating gold mine during Keystone's heyday as a gold mining camp. Though
never as big of a gold producer as Keystone's Holy Terror Mine, nor as
famous as the old Etta Mine, the Big Thunder Mine today is the only gold
mine in the Keystone area that's open for tours -- although the "Broken
Boot Mine" in Deadwood also offers tours.
Visitors get a free sample of
gold ore during the underground tour and have a chance to pan Info: 605-666-4847 or 800-314-3917. Big Thunder, POB
